Changqing Shi

Changqing Shi, a Chinese-born pianist, began her first piano lessons at the age of four. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in piano performance from Henan Conservatory of Zhengzhou University at the age of 17. Ms. Shi received a scholarship and a master's degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, where she studied under pianists Dr. Winston Choi and Edward Auer. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in piano performance and a master's in piano pedagogy at the University of Oregon. Changqing started teaching at CMI since 2022, and recently she was awarded a full scholarship.

Ms. Shi has won multiple awards in national and international competitions. She won first place at the Tokyo International Youth Music Competition in 2022. As a chamber musician, Ms. Shi is the pianist for the Emerald City Trio. The trio won second place at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition in 2023. In previous years, the trio actively performed in the Eugene area with invitation, such as the Cascade Manor Music Hall, UO Scholar Hall, and Berwick Hall.

Ms. Shi has over eight years of experience as a piano instructor, and her students have won prizes in local and national competitions. Some of her high school students have been admitted to music colleges in China and the United States to pursue bachelor's degrees in piano performance.
