Henry Mauser
Henry Mauser is a pianist from Seattle, Washington currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at the University of Oregon, while also serving as a graduate employee in piano instruction, accompanying, and music theory.
He formerly resided in Flagstaff, Arizona where he completed his Master of Music degree in piano performance from Northern Arizona University, and Spokane, Washington where he graduated summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in piano performance and biology from Gonzaga University, as well as receiving the Merwin music scholarship distinction.
Currently studying with Dr. Alexandre Dossin, his previous teachers include Dr. Silvan Negrutiu, Greg Presley, Joyce Gibb, Careen Smith, and Patrick Stephens. Henry performed with the Spokane Symphony as part of MusicFest Northwest in 2019, was a featured soloist on the KPBX Spokane Public Radio Piano Bench program, was a gold medalist in the 2022 Lilac City Piano Festival, and a winner of the 2023 NAU Concerto Competition.
As a collaborative pianist, his enthusiasm for vocal accompanying is bespoken by choral involvement as well as, most recently, serving as a pianist in the summer Music in the Marche opera training program in Mondavio, Italy. His interdisciplinary academic pursuits encourage his intellectual exploration, and he aspires to teach at the University level following the completion of his degree.
