CMI Suzuki Strings Program

Inspired by the work of educator and humanitarian Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki Strings Program (SSP) is grounded in the educational philosophy that all children can learn to play well. The UO Suzuki Strings Program was founded by Shelley Rich in 1997. Shelley returned in Fall of 2021 to resume directing the program and continue the tradition of excellence in string instruction. SSP offers a positive learning environment with guided parental involvement, builds a supportive community through weekly group classes, and delivers pedagogically informed technique in weekly individual lessons.

Beginning students participate in weekly group classes and individual lessons with Shelley Rich. Individual lessons for on-going students are available with experienced CMI faculty. Contact us to receive more information.
